About the Quilt
The Lovely Pinwheels pattern is for confident beginners and a super easy quick quilt to make, especially if you make the 42” x 54” child size version. The 66” x 78” lap size is a quick make too. The pattern consists to two traditional pinwheel blocks and each block comes with a video tutorial linked within the pattern for visual learners.
I designed this pattern in recognition of April’s National Child Abuse Prevention month and for the hundreds of thousands of survivors around the world. Each April, child abuse professionals from 900+ nonprofit Child Advocacy Centers from across the world place blue pinwheels throughout their community to represent children who have received services. As a former social worker and Director of a Children’s Advocacy Center (CAC), I saw first-hand the effects of child abuse as well as the need for the community to support their local non-profit CAC. I hope you will consider making the child size quilt to donate to your local CAC. Children are given a stuffed animal, blanket or quilt at the end of their appointment. I'll be donating one as well as making a monetary donation to my local CAC from a portion of sale of this pattern.
